28.01.2026 - This morning I finally made use of the gym membership that I signed up for two weeks ago. My body feels sore, my legs and hips from running and my shoulders from carrying such heavy bags. I had not run in months. I can already feel that I will be sleeping well tonight. On my way home after class, I started reading Murakami’s What I Talk About When I Talk About Running. I've been wanting to read it for a while. I thought today would be a good time to do so, hoping it will inspire me to run more consistently.
26.01.2026 - It snowed all trough the night and the entirety of the day, whenever i had the chance to look out the window, I could see the flurries of snow rushing from the sky to the ground, such a beautiful sight.
While waiting at the bus stop, I saw a young woman using a flip phone, which immediately made me want to spark a conversation. She was very sweet and elegantly dressed in a vintage orange coat. We ended up conversing during my whole bus ride. We talked about the experience of using dumbphones, our favourite books and hobbies. the conversation was so interesting that I purposely got off two stops after the one I was supposed to by fear of interrupting her train of thought. I did have to walk 10 extra minutes but it was well worth it. She made me reminisce on two years ago when i was using a flip phone, perhaps i will go back to it. When you really think about it, the clarity of mind that it provides very much outweighs its inconveniences.
19.01.2026 - My first day as a first level ESL co-teacher, I was a bit nervous knowing that i would be teaching students who were much older than me, which is different from what I've experienced so far. In the end, everything went well, the students seemed motivated and I also have a lovely co-teacher, Luisa. She is an exchange student from Germany. I look forward to teaching more classes!
